Meet Garo
Garo Bardakjian displayed a musical talent early on in his life starting his first piano lessons at the age of six while studying music in a specialist musical school. Born in Aleppo – Syria to an Armenian father and Greek mother he was fortunate to be educated by the famous Armenian composer and conductor Hrant Kevorkian. In 1978, the great master taught him musical theory, harmony, arrangements and chorus conducting.
Only a year later, in 1979, Garo put together his very first band which performed in many concerts and musical events in Aleppo and throughout the Middle East.
In 1982 Garo graduates as a piano soloist and conducts his first big chorus at the Agbu High School in Aleppo.
A year later, in 1983, Garo moves to Athens, Greece where he begins his professional career working as a pianist in the exclusive restaurants of 5-star hotels in Greece including Intercontinental, Ledra Marriott and Astir Palace.
Garo also put together children’s chorus orchestras and participates in many musical events of the Armenian community in Greece. In 1998, Garo started working with shipping companies that offer day cruises to the islands of the Saronic Gulf and became the manager of the on board entertainment of these cruise ships.
In 2000, Garo put his extensive experience to good use and started his own entertainment company. Since he has organised musical events throughout Greece and Europe and has entertained thousands of people.
Garo sings in 16 different languages which makes him well sought after throughout Europe.
He is fluent in English, Armenian, Greek, Arabic and Italian and can also sing in Spanish, French, Porugaise, Chineese, Japaneese, Corean, Iranian, Indian, Russian, Roumanian, Filipino, Thai.
